Tasty Foods to try at Universal Studios Orlando

From seafood to drinks, check out these quick bites and yummy foods to try at Universal Studios Orlando.

The beauty of Universal Orlando is the seamless transition between its two iconic parks, Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios.

Thanks to the walking proximity and the perks of park hopper tickets, my friend and I were able to explore both parks in one day without missing a beat—especially when it came to the food!

Tasty Foods to try at Universal Studios Orlando.

Below, I’ve put together a list of all the delicious foods we tried, along with the details of our foodie adventure across both parks.

We started the day with a savory can of Who Hash at Islands of Adventure and ended the night on a sweet note with a cookie-butter crepe at Universal Studios.

Foods to try at Universal Studios Orlando

Who Hash

Who hash at Green Eggs and Ham Cafe.

RESTAURANT: Green Eggs and Ham Cafe (Island of Adventure)

Located in Seuss Landing, the Green Eggs and Ham Café offers fun and quirky dishes inspired by Dr. Seuss’s classic book Green Eggs and Ham.

One standout item is the Who Hash, which features a can of loaded tater tots topped with corned beef, onions, creamy cheese sauce, and scallions.

What I loved: I loved how fresh and crispy the tater tots were. They didn’t get soggy, even with the cheese sauce.

Speaking of the cheese, it was creamy but not too overpowering, so you could still taste the perfect blend of the corned beef and tots.

The cute can that the tater tots were served in added a whimsical touch, totally capturing the Seuss magic.

And let me tell you, the scallions were more than just decoration. They added the perfect crunchy, fresh contrast to the hearty meal.

Overall, it was a delicious way to start our day and set the tone for an epic adventure at the park!

Butterbeer

Butterbeer at Universal Studios Orlando.

LOCATION: The Wizarding World of Harry Potter (Island of Adventure)

A trip to Universal Orlando isn’t complete without trying Butterbeer!

Whether you go for the regular, frozen, or even Butterbeer-flavored ice cream, there are so many ways to enjoy this wonderful drink in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

What I loved: What I loved the most is that you can choose from a few different versions of Butterbeer, depending on your mood:

  • Cold Butterbeer: The classic fizzy version, served chilled.
  • Frozen Butterbeer: An icy, slushy version that’s perfect for cooling off on a hot day.
  • Hot Butterbeer: A warm, cozy option available during the cooler months.

I tried both the regular and frozen Butterbeer, but I have to say, the frozen one was my favorite.

The icy texture made it feel extra refreshing, especially while walking around the park.

Plus, the creamy topping was so delightful, it added a little extra sweetness to the buttery, butterscotch flavor that I couldn’t get enough of.

Another thing that I loved is that Butterbeer is super easy to find!

You can grab it from various street vendors all throughout the Wizarding World, which just makes the experience even more fun and convenient.

What to eat at Universal Studios Orlando

Traditional Lamb Gyro Platter With Fries

Lamb gyro platter at Fire Eater’s Grill.

RESTAURANT: Fire Eater’s Grill (Island of Adventure)

The gyro platter came with seasoned lamb slices served on soft pita bread, topped with lettuce, tomatoes, and creamy tzatziki sauce. It was served alongside a side of crispy fries, making for a filling and flavorful meal.

What I loved: What I loved most about the platter was how hot and fresh everything was.

The lamb in the gyro was seasoned, and the fries were cooked perfectly-crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside.

Plus, near the restaurant, there’s a condiment area stocked with relish, ketchup, mayo, and mustard so you can grab whatever you need to customize your meal to your taste.

However, I did feel like the gyro needed a bit more tzatziki sauce. While the toasted pita bread and lamb were delicious, without enough sauce, the wrap felt a little dry.

PX-41 Punch

PX-41 Punch at Pop-A-Nana Cart.

RESTAURANT: Pop-A-Nana Cart (Universal Studios)

The PX-41 Punch is a fun blend of strawberry and kiwi juice, topped with thick frosting and blue raspberry Pop Rocks for an extra kick of sweetness and crunch.

What I loved: What I loved most about this drink was how visually stunning it was.

From the vibrant swirled frosting to the fun design of the cup, it definitely catches your eye.

Plus, the cup itself doubles as a cute keepsake, so you can take a little bit of Universal magic home with you!

However, while the drink looked amazing, I wasn’t a huge fan of the thick frosting on top.

It had a strong medicinal taste that left a bit of a bitter aftertaste, which was a little disappointing considering how fun and fruity the rest of the drink was.

Basket O’ Bait

Basket O’ Bait at the Flying Dutchman.

RESTAURANT: The Frying Dutchman (Universal Studios)

Located in the heart of Simpsons World, The Frying Dutchman is a quick-service restaurant that serves up seafood options like fried fish, calamari, and shrimp.

What I loved: What I loved most was the variety within the basket o’ bait.

The platter came with various items, including coconut shrimp, cod, calamari, and hush puppies, all served with a side of tartar sauce, cocktail sauce, and a lemon wedge.

It was great to have such a range of seafood in one dish, and the coconut shrimp especially stood out for its sweet and savory flavor.

However, I was disappointed that the food wasn’t as fresh as I had hoped. Despite being under a heat lamp, everything was cold and stale, which made the breading dry and chewy.

The fish and other seafood felt greasy and lacked that crisp, fresh-out-of-the-fryer taste. Even with the tartar and cocktail sauces, the quality didn’t quite improve.

If the food had been prepared fresh, I think it would have made for a much better experience overall.

But, hands down, the coconut shrimp was the highlight of the platter. The sweet coconut breading paired with the shrimp created a well-balanced and flavorful bite that I would definitely try again if made fresh.

Flaming Moe

Flaming Moe at Universal Studios Orlando.

RESTAURANT: Flaming Moe’s (Universal studios)

Inspired by Moe’s bar from The Simpsons, the Flaming Moe is a non-alcoholic, citrusy orange soda served in Springfield at Universal Orlando.

What I loved: What I loved about the Flaming Moe was the dry ice at the bottom of the cup, which created a cool bubbling effect.

It’s such a unique touch and really adds to the overall experience. Plus, the transparent souvenir cup lets you watch the bubbling action up close, which makes the drink even more fun to sip on.

However, one downside is that there isn’t much drink in the cup.

Because the dry ice takes up space at the bottom, you end up with less orange soda than it seems, which was a little disappointing.

But overall, the experience and the fun factor of the drink still make it worth trying, especially for Simpsons fans!

Holiday Cookie Butter Crepe

Central Park Crepes at Universal Studios Orlando.

RESTAURANT: Central Park Crepes (Universal Studios)

The Holiday Cookie Butter Crepe is a seasonal favorite at Central Park Crepes, featuring a delicious blend of cookie butter, whipped cream, and a shortbread cookie on top.

What I loved: What I loved most about this experience was the open layout of the Central Park Crepes bakery.

Thanks to the large windows, you can watch the whole crepe-making process, which really built up my excitement as I waited for my crepe to be freshly made.

The crepe itself was a perfect mix of textures and flavors. From the creamy cookie butter and whipped cream to the crunchy shortbread cookie and sprinkles, every bite had something different to offer. The cinnamon cookie butter mascarpone added a rich, spiced flavor that tied everything together.

Despite all the toppings, the crepe wasn’t overwhelmingly sweet—it had a nice balance that made it easy to enjoy without feeling too heavy.

Plus, the crepe was large enough to share between 2 or 3 people, making it a great treat to split with friends!
