However, with the right strategies and a bit of planning, you can streamline the process and make it much more manageable.
Below are some of my favorite tips and tricks to help you conquer dinner prep like a pro.
1. Find Recipe Inspo Online
Use the power of social media platforms like Pinterest, TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, and Google for endless recipe inspiration.
2. Plan Ahead
One of the best ways to make preparing dinner easier is by planning your meals for the week ahead.
Take some time to sit down and plan a general gist of what you’ll be eating, including sides and any leftovers you can repurpose.

3. Prep Ingredients in Advance
To piggyback off of planning ahead, consider prepping ingredients for dishes in advance.
Wash, chop, and store vegetables, meats, and other items so they’re ready to go when you need them.
You can prep ingredients a couple days before or even earlier in the day before you start cooking.
4. Make Enough Food for Leftovers
When you’re cooking, think about making larger batches of meals.
This way, you’ll have leftovers for future dinners.
It’s not just a time-saver, but it’s also really convenient because you can just reheat the food in the microwave whenever you need a quick meal.
5. Create a Cooking Playlist
Listening to music or podcasts while cooking can make the process more enjoyable.
Create a cooking playlist or tune into your favorite podcast to make dinner prep feel less like a chore.
6. Clean as you go
Wash dishes and wipe down counters as you cook to keep your kitchen clean and organized.
Not only does it minimize clutter but makes cleanup much easier once dinner is served.
7. Eat Already Prepared Meals
Simplify dinner prep by incorporating already prepared meals.
For instance, pick up a rotisserie chicken from the store and pair it with homemade sides.
You can also opt for freezer meals like frozen orange chicken and complement it with homemade fried rice.
