Glow up Tips

1. Embrace That You’re God’s Creation

I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.

Psalm 139:14

The first step in glowing up, is understanding that you’re uniquely crafted by God.

The same God that created the universe and everything in it, intricately and meticulously took His time to create you too. (Even down to the number of hair strands on your head)

So, bask in the confidence that comes from knowing that you were crafted with care and purpose by the divine creator.

Appreciate both your inner and outer beauty, and let your confidence shine for all to see.

2. Journal

During your glow-up journey, try keeping a journal where you can write down your thoughts.

It’s not only a great way to release stress and anxiety but also helps you sort through your feelings and gain clarity.

Plus, journaling allows you to capture moments and thoughts from your life that you can revisit in the future, giving you a chance to reflect on your growth and experiences.

3. Feed Your Mind Positivity

Whether it’s online or offline, pay attention to what you’re consuming.

This can involve filtering your social media feed, listening to positive music, or watching movies and shows that leave you feeling fulfilled rather than wanting.

All in all, nourish your mind with positivity and avoid content that brings you down or fosters comparison and discontentment.

4. Practice Gratitude

Another great glow up tip is to embrace a gratitude mindset.

In the middle of life’s highs and lows, try to keep your focus on God and His goodness.

By doing so, it will help to train your mind to see the good in the midst of life’s chaos.

6. Declutter Your Space

Simplify your life by decluttering your space and organizing your routine.

Less clutter might lead to less stress and more peace of mind in your day to day.

7. Hygiene Habits

In terms of a physical glow up, learn and keep your body clean and glowing with simple hygiene habits. Which include:

  • Brushing and flossing your teeth
  • Washing and styling your hair
  • Showering and moisturizing your skin

8. Try Different Hairstyles

This glow up tip is one of my personal favorites; and that is to have fun and try out different hairstyles.

Hair has such a unique ability to frame our face and just change our entire look.

From braids to hair accessories and even switching up a middle part to a side part, look up some hair tutorials and have fun experimenting with different hairstyles.

9. Dress to Impress Yourself

Wear clothes that make you feel good and reflect your personal style.

Just because everyone around you is wearing a certain type of clothing doesn’t mean that you have to automatically conform yourself and wear those trends.

Dress your body in clothes that are cute and comfortable to you.

10. Get Moving

Find enjoyable and little ways to stay active throughout the week.

Whether it’s a workout routine, dancing, or walking your dog, staying active can help boost your mood and contribute to great health benefits.

11. Fuel Your Body Right

Although it is really convenient to eat junk food and take out, it’s important to be mindful of what you’re eating and drinking.

Many process foods including juice and sodas, contain a lot sugar, processed fats, and sodium; which can make you feel sluggish, bloated, and even worsen acne.

Now, that doesn’t mean that you have to cut all processed foods from your diet.

Instead, aim for a balanced lifestyle where you incorporate more nutritious and whole foods within your diet, to help fuel your body and keep you feeling your best.

12. Prioritize Sleep

A good night’s rest is not an option but rather a NECESSITY!

Make sure you’re getting enough rest to recharge your body and mind for the ultimate glow up.
